Toy Story Poster
In 1995, Pixar started something big with the very first full-length feature computer generated animated
Toy Story. Is it a kid’s movie? For sure. But all ages enjoy it for its humor, beauty, and cast of
voices. How else could it go on to make several sequels.
And so if you are looking for a Toy Story poster, you have many to choose from.
The Disney movie poster for Toy Story that I like the best, the one that gives me a chuckle is the
one picture at the bottom of this page. But you (I mean, your child) may find one they like even better.
This is one of those movies that has turned out to be a cash cow for its producers. This was a pleasant surprise
for Pixar and all the others who invested in this venture. Now with just a little perusing of the Internet, I found
many Toy Story offerings, including the following:
Toy Story Video
Toy Story Toys
Toy Story DVD
Toy Story Game
Toy Story Shirt
Toy Story Characters
Toy Story Soundtrack
Toy Story Mr Potato Head
Toy Story Slinky Dog
Toy Story Music
Toy Story Birthday
And the list goes on. I can hear the marketing department shouting with glee, “To infinity and beyond!” But for the
die hard fans of this movie, you can never get enough.
And I suppose the pay off is well deserved. The reviews of this movie have been impressive.
At one point, the reviews were one hundred percent positive on the movie review website Rotten Tomatoes. Some words
and phrases used by movie critics include: takes one’s breath away, allows us to see things in a new way, the
year’s most inventive comedy, and the best voiced animated movie. The acclaim and the awards are too numerous to
list.
But beyond the spectacular animation wizardry, what makes the movie great I believe is the story itself (and for me
the pranks) and the voice actors.
Little Andy, who is 6 years old, does not realize that when he is out of the room, his play things come alive.
Andy’s favorite toy is Woody (voice by Tom Hanks), a Sheriff cowboy doll. All of Andy’s other
toys, Mr Potato Head, Rex the dinosaur, Bo Peep and others get
ready for Andy’s birthday. And that’s when the plot twist develops. Andy gets the greatest toy ever. A space ranger
with all kinds of fancy gadgets. Enter Buzz Lightyear! (voice by Tim Allen). And there you have it
– jealousy. Woody has got to do something about Buzz Lightyear to win back Andy’s affection as his favorite toy.
The movie is the story of all the dangerous situations that Buzz and Woody get into as they battle it out.
Now, Buzz thinks he’s real and is trying to get back to his home planet. He sees Woody as an obstacle. And as
already mentioned, Woody sees Buzz as a threat to his being first place in Andy’s heart. In their attempts to do
each other in and their fighting, and without giving all the details, they wind up stranded in the middle of the
road. And so the adventure begins.
Some of the other voice actors in Toy Story include: Don Rickles (the insult king) as Mr Potato Head, Jim Varney
(just funny to hear) as Slinky Dog and Annie Potts as Bo Peep.
Finally, check out the Toy Story movie poster below. To me,
this one best sums up the movie.
